Derby Come and Gone…Traditions with the Yanoks and Linleys

For over 30 years George and I have had a Kentucky Derby Party…it started with some neighbors before Andi and Emily were born. What a good time! Good food, $5.00 bets. glasses from Church Hill Downs, Derby Pie, Mint Juleps…and yes some of the same folks attend. Andi and Mike decided to keep the tradition going in Sacramento…a few changes…time difference makes their party in the middle of the afternoon. We sent them out half of our Derby glasses…they go back to the early 80’s…one more box out of our lower level. And the Door Contest Began…

Such a good feeling when you see your adult children keeping some of the family traditions…Andi called a couple of times…”My Derby Pies Look Good”…”Dad, what does simple syrup look like?” And most of the west coast party guests bet on the right horse…the name with their state…

Trying to get back to blogging…. I have been very busy with the crazy real estate market…Having too much fun teaching HOME ECONOMICS in the Real World…does that sound like a reality show… Just sold a house in 2 days…with my “lucky fern”. And what is my lucky fern? I get teased about it a lot from clients. I do think bright green plants…that look real…help a room look fresh and clean. I always use them when helping stage a property.
