HELP YOUR Neighbor While HELPING YOUR SELF
Disclosure: I will be the first to share that our “Curb Appeal” is not by far ready for the cover of any magazine.
As a realtor, I have learned how important curb appeal is to a buyer. I help many families relocate to Central Ohio. When they come in for a long weekend, they may have already selected as many as 30 properties that they have chosen from an automated search. We travel fast as I want to make the best use of the time they have in Ohio. If a house or neighborhood has several properties that look to be neglected or should I say have no curb appeal, my buyers ask to just drive by, not stopping to see the property. As I know the home seller has hopefully prepared the inside of the property for a showing, I am working for the buyer.
As we all want to see the value of our properties increase, take a look at the front of your property. You never get a second chance to make a positive first impression. Overgrown lawn, numerous weeds, or dense landscaping, front doors that may need painted, etc. do not help to increase the value of our properties. Maintaining an inviting curb appeal, is one of the most inexpensive ways to increase/update a property and your neighbors too.
