“Spring isn’t on its way – it’s here,” said John Royer, Columbus REALTORS® 2016 President. “Spring is when the housing market traditionally heats up. But it started early this year and the central Ohio real estate market is incredibly hot right now, with homes selling as quickly as they’re being added to the market.”
Sale prices are at record highs. The average sale price of a home in February was $185,556, up 3.8 percent from February 2015 and a slight increase (0.5 percent) over the previous month. The median price in February was $154,700, an increase of 4.5 percent from a year ago.

The above information came from The Columbus Board of REALTORS. I always and still encourage my buyers to complete due diligence before making an offer…but not much time to “sleep on it” in today’s market. I just helped a client go through 3 contracts before we got THE HOUSE for a below list price. Bidding wars and above list prices are not rare but can be somewhat avoided if you act fast. Be prepared to jump: Preapproved be a reputable lender, flexible on closing time if possible, have the number of a competent inspector ready to call, and of course a REALTOR like me.
Sellers…….Yes it is time to List your property! I am ready for your listing appointment. I provide a professional photographer as well as a professional stager at my cost to get your home in the Spotlight! And in this process, we need to know and find where you plan to move to.
If you are thinking of relocating, my daughter who met an incredible REMAX Realtor in Scottsdale, has helped me create a wonderful professional contact. This realtor just stepped down from being the National President of the Women’s Council of Realtors. She just referred one of my clients to an outstanding realtor in Prescott, Az. She has shared with me I just have to give her the city…and she will most likely already have a contact from her professional network over the years. So glad she loves my daughter…She sold Emily her condo in Scottsdale and then listed and sold the condo in a cash deal when the market had dropped.
