MORE Exploring for LOW COST accessories, etc.

LOVE exploring for good stuff!  When my good friend and neighbor called me on Friday night and asked if I was ready to explore…she is an excellent picker…off we went.   Sharing old stories about such trips from years ago, laughing about nothing,  and brainstorming “repurpose ideas”…no Pinterest needed in this car.  First stop…

Voted BEST BOOTH by us…VintagedMod-pick,salvage>repurpose!

My NEW pile of JUNK……as my husband and best friend described…

Love this collection…base is a former Soil tester with all the info. on the rim…When I sell a piece of property, the soil does have to be tested before closing to make sure the land is buildable.  This is the former method…a sieve is the bottom…brass with the black metal tag still on this “piece of junk”.  The ring with the numbers is an old dial that came from an old gas pump…the numbers you see when filling your car with gas. I already had some old pulleys…I use for hanging pictures, etc , a succulent and topped off with my favorite final touch… A Cloche!

Had to stop by the Grandma BAIT Store…….Evie needs to learn all about Brutus and his followers!

Off for another adventure this weekend…building business alliances with Kimberly Althouse, Huntington, Kari Stumpf, REMAX Affiliates, and Wendi Diersing, Great American Title.  Now that I am bringing the subject back to Real Estate, it is soooooo important to partner with other professionals that you can depend on to complete all details on their end of the contract.  In this market, it takes a TEAM that can work together.  And the best part of this team, our professional development includes lots of fun!
Two listings in Westerville…coming up soon!

Elm and Iron….newest location

 Elm & Iron Easton

Newest location is now OPEN.  I promise you will love strolling through this store…I must admit many of these items look so familiar.  Could they be in my lower level?  Some are from my Great Grandmother Schauseil’s house or gathered at the Springfield Flea Market and years of collecting…junk, George would say.  So if you want to collect without the journey, this could be a one stop shop.

Just Say No to Fake Christmas Trees! Clark Griswold Lives Here?

c2

Can’t wait until this little cutie comes to our house!  Our daughter, Andi already has him trained, “Just Say No to Fake Trees”. So as long as our girls come home, yes, George will wrestle with a very, tall tree.  I have offered to have a tree delivered and put in the stand but our girls love the tradition of watching their father STRUGGLE with the tree.  A yearly display of his true strength.

Step Three Put the Tree in Water

Now you might think George loves to put up Christmas Decorations…

c3

No Clark Griswold HERE.  This is a photo of his “light job” he did last Sunday…I could not believe my eyes when I came home…

ab

Above Photo is at Terrain…so pricey!  I did buy 2 utility/light poles seen in the top photo.

c10

Tin house came from JOANN’s 60% off…12.00.  I already had the glass box which I use to display so many things from family photos to old books to other “stuff” in my lower level.

c12

The little tin houses above were from JOANNS’s too.

c5

Ornamental Cabbage is still looking good…so just added some holiday greens and sticks from the yard.

c1

I already had all the “stuff” in this photo.  Love my tin boots…little evergreen trees in the winter, annuals in the summer, pumpkins in the fall…and the list could go on.

Sunny and 64 in Ohio today…so I guess I will have to rearrange George’s lights…

HOPING for SOME SNOW SOON!  Eli in 2015…This year will be so much fun…Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Tis the Season…Ideas Galore…One of My Favorite Places with my BEST FRIENDS!

66

Just spent a long weekend with our two daughters…so much fun and they promised to go to one of my FAVORITE PLACES,  TERRAIN

Glen Mills, PA, Westport, Ct. and 2 new stores to open in CA…Terrain at Anthropologie & Co…..amazing ideas from many things you probably already have!

abcd

Two items you must have….tiny lights on copper wire…plug in or battery operated.  Look great anywhere!  I had some outside all summer in sunshine and rain.  MAGICAL where ever they go.  Order on Amazon or look at TJMAX or Homestore…much less$$$

I couldn’t bring spray snow home on plane but I may order.  Looks so real, not sticky or flakey…I think it can add to holiday look on natural finds found in  the woods.  Solid and there to stay on greens…I am guessing would last from year to year.

hhhh

Baskets of natural greens, berries…amazing together…and I only had one carry on! Wish one of our nurseries had this variety in one place.

55

A little gold spray paint on one side of some white trays…found in my lower level…I do love spray paint!

4

Everything is displayed so well…check out the legs on this table!

hhhhhhh

So many ideas and groupings…I know you have some “stuff” that would look fantastic under a piece of glass.

2

Tiny lights in large pine cones…I do have a collection from visiting Andi in Ca….and to think my family gets frustrated when I bring a couple of bags home.

ab

I did purchase two of the utility light posts to use in my Village…only took a very small space in my bag.

6

Love this season!  Gather ideas from “window shopping” on the internet, stores, and or magazines.  Take time to check out dollar stores, Big Lots, etc. to find some of the items you may need.  Update old décor.  Get out the spray paint.  Every year, I think I will do less but then my family will ask if I am putting up the this or that from years before…and make comments about how they do appreciate and enjoy our home during the holidays…and you know what I do…DECK the Halls!  How could I disappoint these little girls?

Book2

Busy time for Realtors right now.  A few more listings, and buyers want to take advantage of the interest rates…Election is over, still unanswered questions, but the American Dream is still alive and well.  Be the first on the market in 2017.  Preparing listings right now.

Which Home Decor Store Makes you put your BRAKES on?

Many of my clients ask for suggestions for hairdressers, dentists, restaurants, plumbers, preschools, cleaning companies, and MORE but my favorite is SHOPPING…so I am starting a list on my blog today.  No order of favorite…just a list.

  1.   Trove Warehouse  2325 Wood Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43221  One of a kind pieces, no returns so make sure, inventory changes weekly, only open Thursday-Saturday.  614-429-8526

2.  Edwin Loy Home  34 North State Street, Westerville 614-891-9123  Chalk Paint, Workshop/Class/ Home Décor/Vintage Finds/Clothing…Just recently opened a store in Delaware, Ohio.

Dining room chandelier  was painted for bedroom chandelier…Chalk Paint and Amy Winters, The OWNER

Light paintedbrass

3.  Elm and Iron  3475 North High Street, Columbus 614-824-5611  They also have a warehouse across the street and another store in Cincinnati. Lots of quirky and/or vintage pieces.  I love to browse through, sometimes buy, and sometimes borrow ideas.

3c

4.      Arhaus  1275 Polaris Pkwy. Columbus, Ohio 614-847-4279  LOVE the displays, arrangements, use of all real/natural foliage.  I almost always take a stroll through to grab ideas.  SALES are good.  Get on their list.

AND PRICES EVEN BETTER at Arhaus LOFT Furniture Outlet, 3791 Park Mill Run Dr., Hilliard, Ohio 43026  614-534-1297  Worth a trip. They always seem to have so many tables for all occasions and places…OUTDOOR Furniture in mid summer…stone table tops, great light fixtures…It is a hit or miss stop.  Purchase a lamp for $50.oo at the LOFT Store and saw the same lamp in the Arhaus store for $425.00 in the same month.  That is what I call a deal.
